Weekend referee

No, I am not an official referee. I just spend about 95% of the weekend refereeing my sons' arguments (the other 5%, when I am not refereeing, is when they are sleeping... or on their tablets... but, even then, they argue). I was just going to post about how nice it was to sit outside while they played but, alas, that peace-and-quiet didn't last very long ;) I had to blow my ref whistle ;)

Our weekend was filled with soccer, soccer, soccer... and sun! It is tough to have the overlap between school and summer sports but the boys are now catching up on their reading (= kind of quiet... except for complaining about reading... but this time, the boys are in agreement) ;)

Wishing you all a happy week ahead! xox

Sometimes my husband still likes me ;)

Weekend and getting excited...

We had only one soccer game today so it has been a fairly relaxed day. This morning, I had to go and pick up my NEW computer because my last one finally died (with a little help from the last Windows update... ugh!). So, this is my first blog post coming from this new computer (reason to celebrate?). Anyway, we are taking it easy before tomorrow's crazy soccer schedule and I am dreaming of the start of our holidays.... ahhhh.... Oliver used his birthday money to buy some sunglasses (in the pictures below) so I know that he is also in the same frame of mind as me ;) The boys are wrapping up their school year in ten days from now so they are all getting excited... woo hoo! Now, just to survive the routine for the next few days..... wish me/us luck ;)

Hope you are having a great weekend so far!

Getting used to the principal's office at school ;)

School trip

Today, I went on a school trip with Alexander's class to go "hiking and biking". It was a great trip- really. I miss being on a bike (left over from my Copenhagen days) and it was fantastic to hang out with the kids, teachers and other parent volunteers. The scenery was beautiful and we all had a great time!

The most strange encounter during the day was that I ended up making "friends" with a turtle: he (or she- I really don't know) was trying to cross the busy road to get back to the water. I stopped my car and my intention was to pick it up by its shell and put it on the other side of the road, away from traffic. Problem was that it was one MASSIVE (about 45 cm across and more than 1 kg) snapping turtle who was totally not so keen on me. Thankfully, another sucker.. I mean woman... stopped and offered me her shovel so that I could carry this mean turtle to the other side. I had to take a picture when we got it, safely, to its destination. Can you see the appreciation on its face? ;) Haha! I don't think so either :)

Hope you all had a great day xox

The start of our hike... action shot ;)

Alexander, getting ready for his bike trip... a bit of Swedish pride ;)

At the end of the bike trip... we survived!

I will take all the hugs that I can get from my little man!
Can't you see the appreciation in its eyes? ;)

Rain, rain

Yesterday and today has been very rainy. Cons = cancelled soccer practices and being in the house. Pros = cancelled soccer practices and being in the house ;) Oh yeah, and no watering the lawn..

Hope your week has started off well... my beloved peonies are out so I am happy :)

Ped day and hair cuts

Good thing in the boys' books: it was a ped day. Bad thing in the boys' books: it was very rainy and they had to do homework. Good thing in mamma's books: we didn't have to rush anywhere. Bad thing in mamma's books: according to the boys, it was the most boring day ever.. (insert complaining here) :S

At least we managed one trip out... for haircuts (OK.. so it made my day better but their day got worse). Consulation prize was a trip to the store for some $1.00 toy that entertained them for about 30 seconds after they got home ;) No one got a time out and punching each other was kept to a minimum so, all in all, it was a pretty good day!

Happy week to all!

Graduation

Today, Oliver graduated from his daycare (dagis). He will be there until the end of this month and then, after having kids at the same daycare since 2006, our family (my sister's 2 boys went there too) will have moved on. My three little men will be in the same school for one year before Alexander goes to high school... and I will save that upcoming milestone for another blog post ;)

Here are a few glimpses of Oliver's big day...

Going to be presented as the Class of 2015

Getting bored of all the picture taking ;)

Ready for action!

Happy Friday!

All I can say is that I think my brain has left for holiday already and forgot to tell the rest of me ;) These last few weeks left before we head off are painful!!!!! The thought of just hanging out, without the routine day-to-day, is SO attractive right about now. The boys are excited to be finished school and to move into summer mode :)
Tonight is Oliver's graduation from daycare.. where did time go? I will post some pictures tomorrow!

Happy Friday to all xox

Candy break for good work in school (and because pappa was craving some lakrids) ;)

Oliver wanted to come and pick me up from the airport dressed as a Ninja Turtle....

The other travelers would have been jealous, of course!

On my way to work...

Silly boys!
