Sunday

Good morning!

Lately, it seems like I only post on Sundays ;)

The weather outside is very typical for this winter (read: crappy). We are getting a mix of rain, sleet, hail and snow. Awesome ;) You know what is even more awesome? I don't have to go out this morning ;) So, I am enjoying some coffee, somewhat quiet boys (read: they are gaming) and writing a seemingly weekly blog post ;)

Happy Sunday to you all! Hope you have a good day xox

The rare moment of peace between brothers ;)

Outside... at least it is not minus 100C ;) Got to look at the bright side ;)

Sunday evening

There is always something about a Sunday evening... as much as I look forward to the week ahead, it also leaves me a bit down: I never get as much done as I had intended to. I never get to folding all the laundry that I wanted to do. I could always use an extra day off for the relaxing that I never managed to get to. My agenda is way too full for next week. Oliver still has homework to do.... On the bright side, we had a good weekend... Andreas and I managed a date night.... I actually washed all the bedding.... The groceries are done.... There is food in the house for lunches tomorrow... AND Andreas is making dinner ;) Bonus!

Hope you all have a great week ahead! Here are some glimpses of our evening... and I still haven't managed to finish the laundry ;)

Snow Day!

Today is a Montreal-wide snow day! Not that I really like snow but this is a snow day like we used to have when I was growing up: all snow and not terrible ice or rain or wet or absolute non-able-to-survive-outside freezing temperatures. It is nice enough to venture outside to go sledding but insane to drive anywhere further than the local grocery store.
I think that, in all, we got over 35 cm since last night and it just finished snowing about an hour ago. The schools all called a day off last night, making it really fun to tell the boys! Even universities proclaimed today a snow day and I cannot remember the last time that happened!
Anyway, Happy Snow Day! It feels good to drink coffee and wear my slippers while I get work done ;)

xox to you all! Safe driving for all those who woke up to massive snowbanks and bad road conditions. To all those who love snow but don't normally get it: don't worry- it is in the mail ;)

This was last night already, just before the schools decided to close today

What we woke up to!

Our cars are somewhere under those snow piles!

Even our snowman looks pissed off ;)
Like father, like son!

After Andreas and Alexander dug the car out!

That is a lot of snow!

Cooker and eater

Oliver could live on air and goldfish crackers... and the occasional pizza... and popsicles in the summer... and birthday cake.... and cucumbers... but that is about it. We have, however, discovered that the chances of him actually eating something goes up when he helps to cook it (full disclosure, it is more cutting stuff up than cooking but it is good enough for him... and for us). He gets really serious about it- insisting on putting on my apron- and carefully cuts vegetables. Andreas even gives him a good cutting knife- which gives me a heart attack- but Oliver always works very carefully...  he's probably safer than I am with knives 😉. Anyway, if he is the cooker, he also ends up being the eater... and I end up feeling better about his diet 😉 Plus he looks very cute with an apron on.... 😉

Hope you all had a great day! xox

PS: he calls himself "cooker" so it is not just bad grammar 😉

Noma, here he comes! ;)

Watch the knife! ;)

Like father, like son! Both with aprons ;)

Postcards from Montreal

Hi there!

We have had a lot of up and down weather lately. For example, last week was -20C, this past weekend was -15C... today started off at -1C with rain... went up to 6C... and now going down to -6C. The weekend will be cold again and next week will be snow. Let's just say that Montreal is covered with ice and slush/snow. Everyone is really tired of it... even the winter-lovers.... The rock solid snow is hard to do anything with and making snow angels is impossible! Oh well! I regularly go to the happy place in my head... where it is at least 25C and I am wearing sandals ;)

Here is some icy Montreal spam... Happy evening to you all xox
