Spring happiness

Yesterday, it was 19C and sunny. When I went for a walk at 7pm, it was 16C and still light out. The snow is melting, the air feels friendly and the sun warms the bones. This evening, we are expected to have rain, which will rinse off the streets and melt the rest of the snow. The bird songs are welcoming spring... and I am too. Definitely a case of spring happiness :)

This is the day where winter becomes spring and I can officially say that I made it! Finally, the other side! You can already feel it in the air. People are actually smiling.... it is easier to walk without heavy boots... you don't have to bury yourself in winter clothing... the sun feels warmer... ahhhhh!

One happy boy!

On Tuesday, Nicklas finally had his cast removed! If you didn't read about it before, Nicklas broke his wrist during a football game (more info here). Honestly, it was really one of those bad luck freak accidents that you can't blame football for. Although his season is now over, he is getting geared up to play again next year already ;) He has been really looking forward to having the cast taken off so regaining his right arm again has put him in a very good mood :)

Postcards from Montreal

Today, it is 6C and the snow is melting... I know that we will, most likely, have another good snowstorm or two but, in the mean time, I am enjoying the breath of spring. People are walking in the streets with their shoulders back and a smile on their face. It is almost like Montrealers finally realize that they just might have survived another winter... and that deserves some sort of self love and happiness ;)

Do you remember the 26C that we had the other day? Well, it definitely did not last ;) Happily, it was enough to melt the majority of snow and kick start the green ;) I feel the crappy winter mood slowly lifting..

Here are some post cards from Montreal. I avoided capturing all the garbage on the sidewalks that has now been freed from the melting snowbanks. Montreal, at this time of the year, might not be the prettiest but we all start to come back to life again ;)

Wow- this is blog post #699... in honour of the upcoming #700, I wanted to write something deep... something meaningful... something poetic... however, I don't have enough brain cells to meet the challenge. So, you get some more photos of Montreal ;) Given that we will have temperatures up to 14C this week, the atmosphere in the city has shifted. People are in better moods... walking straighter... coming back to life... hope it is not a tease ;)
