White and red
This morning, I used the spa gift card that I got from the boys (= Andreas) for my birthday. When I went in to the place, it was grey and I had on my regular shoes. When I left (and I was only there for a few hours), it was white, white and white (not so great for my regular shoes). Fortunately, I had my nice RED nails... which lasted about 10 minutes after I got home ;) Oh well... I appreciated every minute of them ;)
Happy evening to you all xox

Doing nothing
Today is a doing-nothing sort of day. The stores are crazy with Boxing Day and the weather is not very pleasant (ice rain). Downstairs, the boys are making lots of noise with visiting friends. For the moment, it is still happy noise, so I am OK with it ;) Andreas and I are upstairs, enjoying some coffee, chocolates, lakrids, Julmust ... and doing nothing.
Wishing you all a good doing-nothing sort of day xox

Merry Christmas!
It is now almost 3:00pm our time. The turkey is done. The potatoes and stuffing are on. The appetizers are planned. The sugar has been consumed. The guests will arrive shortly.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas... Thanks for following our family's day to day xox
PS: all picture credits go to Andreas. He thinks that my camera takes blurry photos ;)

The polar cat
In Canada, even our cats blend in with the snow ;) Sometimes, all you see are his little pink ears and his eyes and he has been known to startle the woman who lives in front of us. His camouflage doesn't work so well in the summertime ;)
Tomorrow is Christmas eve and I am actually somewhat ready to go ;) Good evening to you all xox

Evening out
Yesterday was my last exam day... for my class, not for me... Hey- there has to be SOME bonus for all the years of study ;) So, until we go back in January, I am on my own time! Yes- I do have to correct, put together grades and organize my courses for next semester but I can be wearing my pajamas and slippers when I am doing it... and that makes a big difference ;) Anyway, to conclude this semester, the lab that I work with had a dinner party last night. So, between the time I left my office and the time the dinner started, I had the chance to walk around downtown Montreal and enjoy the holiday vibe :) It was festive- with all the lights- and, thankfully, not so cold out so walking around was very pleasant! Here is a bit of a photo spam from my walk... sorry for the blurriness... my phone does not like the foggy/drizzly air....
Happy Wednesday to you all xox

Happy 4th advent!
It was really nice... we got to start the day rush-free :) It doesn't happen often and, every once in a while, I would pretend for a second that we had to hurry to get somewhere and then- I know it sounds crazy- enjoy the fact that we actually didn't ;) A little bit like setting your alarm clock, just to be able to shut it off and enjoy going back to sleep again ;)
It is supposed to get to -24C tonight. Strange after the rain we had this morning! Hopefully, the weather will stabilize soon because the warm/cold/warm/cold is a bit hard on the system... plus you never know what to wear... and it is icy as crap.
On another note, can you believe this is the last advent?!??!! Christmas is right around the corner! This week, Alexander will have exams. I have exams (well.. not me but my students). Stressful. Nicka and Oliver have pajama day. Not so stressful ;) Friday will be a half day at school and I am hoping that I will have the chance to use the morning to submit most of my grades... to pick them up... and to be officially on holiday! :)
Wishing you all a great week ahead! xox

Saturday cosy
Andreas is out with the big boys, watching Star Wars, and I am home with Oliver. Sometimes, we just need to have a bit of cosy... :) It has been very snowy lately... and very cold... so it is nice to be inside and warm!
Happy Saturday night xox
