Montreal colours

When the warm weather starts, Montreal becomes a city filled with outdoor terraces, bright murals, festivals, street parties and colourful expressions of love for the city. Montrealers (or montrealais/montrealaise) just love to be outside, enjoying the nice weather. We now live in the 'burbs, but I used to live downtown and still love having the opportunity to walk around in the city. Last week, I had a meeting at another hosptial and I happily had the chance to walk there. Here are some glimpses of Montreal colours....

Wishing you all a great Sunday!

Excited for the nice weather

My clowns

Lately, the boys love to come home from school and play outside. I am so happy that we can finally do this without having to pack ourselves up in multi layers and hide in igloos ;) I am glad that the air no longer hurts my face and the boys don't give up after being outside for more than 2 minutes ;) I am glad for sandals and being able to sit outside with my after work coffee... I am glad for the fresh air and the neighbours that are finally coming out of hibernation (as I should talk!). Haha!

They LOVE to be outside... and, of course, acting like clowns is a part of the package!

Happy Friday to all... wishing you all a great weekend xox

PS: I should add that this post's photo credits go to Andreas... I was inside making dinner ;)

Our new room!

Our balcony in the back used to have a table on it. A fine table but definitely not very kid friendly because it had sharp corners... sharp corners that became rusty over the past winter....  Anyway, Andreas and I decided that, rather than an outside dining room, we wanted a new living room! Instead of replacing the dining table, we bought an outdoor sofa set :) Our house is pretty small so the extra space is appreciated... and I can absolutely picture us outside, coffee/wine in hand :)
It was a bit cool today but we used it anyway... I cannot wait for warmer weather...

Happy Sunday xox

Art and other activities....

My poor ignored blog ;) This past week has been jam packed with correcting (for me), end of semester stuff (for me), class tests (for the boys)  and their school art gala. Every year, as a sort of fundraiser, my boys' elementary school holds an art gala where the children can show off their talents (the parents even get wine and cheese- I love our school)! Each class has a theme or an artist's style that they incorporate into their work. It is always a success and their art is impressive! Oliver's daycare does not hold an event like that (yet- I am trying to give them the idea ;) ) but, nonetheless, he picked up the art theme as well :)

After this past week, I am looking forward to a quiet Saturday night... wishing you all the same xox

Oliver's Lego creation

Not sure what this is called but it involves a man, ants and big spiders ;)

Oliver and his balloon

Oliver loves balloons. He especially loves to draw on balloons. This poses 2 problems: 1) the balloons often pop when he colours on them (= bad for him) and 2) he uses washable markers, which means that his balloons leave markers trails all over the house when he plays with them (= bad for me). Anyway, given his love for his unique kind of art, we deal with both of those problems and just keep lots of back up balloons (and cleaning products!) on hand.

Here are some pictures of his recent masterpiece.... it popped about 15 minutes later but, at least, I captured it!

Happy Monday to you all XOX

Many faces!

Faster marker in the west ;)

Serious work!
