Early morning

This morning, I had to be at an early meeting. It was kind of nice to not be involved in pushing boys out the door to get to school on time ;) PLUS, I love Montreal when it starts to wake up... Great way to start the day.

Hope you all are having a good one xox

Here is some early morning Montreal spam ;)

Random morning quotes

Heard today at our house:

- Mamma! Fanny is eating Zoey's poop! That is SOOOOOOOOOO gross! (Fanny and Zoey are our dogs... not our kids).

- I can't tell you what I want for breakfast. I only woke up 16 hours ago. (Actually it was more like 16 seconds but, heck, who is counting).

- Mamma! Don't forget that on Friday I need a sandwich that looks like a sea otter! (This will certainly be another blog post topic- trust me!).

- I thought you were joking when you said we had to leave 15 minutes earlier. If Alexander's bus is on strike, why don't you just make him walk to school instead? (Ummm.... no).

- I can't brush my teeth because the cat won't get out of the sink! (See picture).

- I can't wash my hands because the cat won't get out of the sink! (Again, see picture).

- Mamma! You will hate it outside because it is cold and icy! (Yes, you are correct!).

- Mamma! Can you please sign all the entries for my reading journal right now? (Umm... there are about 50 entries and I have 2 minutes before we have to leave. Are you kidding?).

- Do you think that Pappa is eating pizza for lunch today? (Probably).

- Mamma... Mamma... Mamma....Wyatt and I are practising our Ninja moves at recess today. We arranged it. (I hope your session will not be at the top of the slide like yesterday).

- Mamma! Tell Alexander to stop throwing his football at me!

- "Alexander, please text me so that I know if I should pick you up after school or not. Alexander? Alexander? What did I just say? " "Ummm... ya?" (This is a regular conversation).

This is all before I managed to get onto the 7:54 train. I think I need a coffee ;) Wishing you all a good day xox

Attack of the morning storm cloud

This week, Alexander and Nicklas are doing a soccer camp. This means early mornings (well.. for them, it is an early morning), lots of exercise, lots of exercise in the hot sun (did I mention that it will be 34C today?) and evening practices with their respective teams. Needless to say, there are some majorly crabby boys in our house this week (even if they love their camp). This morning, when Nicka woke up, he stomped down the hallway. I greeted him with a "Good morning" and he grunted at me. Every question, including what he wanted for breakfast, was met with eye rolls- which, I have to say, he is an absolute master at. When he couldn't remember where he had plugged his tablet in, he scowled and, although he said that he didn't, I am almost positive that a not-so-bad-but-bad word came out of his mouth. In order to keep the peace, I silently moved into the kitchen and started to make lunches....

Today was the attack of the morning storm cloud ;)

PS: Once he got to his camp, he started to cheer up and the cloud lifted ;)

Tornado time (aka mornings at our house)

I get up early.... ok.... maybe not as early as Andreas, but I get up early. I like to have a cup of coffee... or two.... or three.... and check my favourite blogs.... and read the newspapers.... and ease into the day. Then the boys start to wake up.... It starts off calmly... then then- somewhere after cereal and before getting school bags packed- it happens.... TORNADO TIME! This is the time when chaos strikes and all hell breaks loose! The boys start to jump around, run, fight, punch, argue, freak out the dogs and just, generally, get on my morning nerves (which are much easier to get on then my rest-of-the-day nerves). So, between the yelling/barking/banging/arguing, I have to make sure that they get ready for school and out the door.... It doesn't seem to phase Andreas at all... in fact, being a larger version of the boys, he often joins in the tornado. This always leads to more yelling/barking/banging/arguing and, amazingly, more yelling/barking/banging/arguing. At this point, I am always regretting not getting a house with an extra "only-woman-in-the-house" bathroom... a sound-proof one.... with its own espresso maker and spa..... At this point, the tornado makes its way outside, into the car and off to start the day. Our neighbours love us ;)

Wishing you all a great rest of the day xox Think of me in the morning ;)

Welcome to mornings at our house ;)

Montreal morning

On Tuesdays, I start teaching at 8:30. That means that I have to leave my house before 6am. It can be a rough start but, you know, I am actually starting to enjoy it. I get to watch Montreal wake up in the mornings.... slow, calm start to the day. Sometimes, I pick up a coffee at my favourite cafe and just appreciate the walk to work. Yesterday was one of these days....

Hope you had a good day xox

Morning in Montreal

I took the train in again today. Actually, I have decided to make this a regular routine in order to save gas money.... and my sanity ;)

I also get a chance to take some pictures on my walk into work! Bonus!

Early morning

For some reason, I ended up with the perfect traffic conditions this morning... no traffic! Amazing! Anyway, I ended up arriving at work a good 40 minutes before having to teach :) Walking to work, I noticed how much darker the mornings are now... it looked cosy but depressing at the same time. Winter is definitely on its way in :(

Here are some photos of Montreal during early morning rush hour... Hope you all had a great day!
