New York City, part 1

All I can say is I 💗 NY!

This summer, we wanted a "short but sweet" holiday that we could fit between spring and fall football seasons so we decided to make a trip to New York City. Luckily, Andreas and I found a great and inexpensive VRBO rental (kind of like Air BnB) in Staten Island that didn't disappoint. We are a 20 minute bus trip from the Staten Island Ferry, which is a lovely (and free) trip all on its own.
Given that our boys- ironically because they love to be active and do sports- are not the walking type, we decided to go with a 3 day "hop on and off" bus tour (we chose Big Bus Tours... there are others... but we found this one first). Not hearing "My feet hurt" and "I am SO tired" is absolutely worth the money to get on the bus!!! Today was Uptown, Downtown and Brooklyn. Tomorrow, we will do Harlem and a harbour boat tour. Wednesday, we are aiming for the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We get really good views from the open top of the bus and the local guides are all really interesting... even the boys thought so. The day ended with awesome pizza from the "best place in Staten Island" and we all agreed on that point!

Anyway, here is a bit of NYC photospam.... Hope you like the scenery as much as we do! Stay tuned for part 2 coming tomorrow :)

  1. When both the spring and fall season for 5 football enthusiasts have to be coordinated with summer vacation, New York is great. Never been there myself, but it is on my bucket list.
Your lovely pictures describe what I'm thinking. Everything is magnificent. Or another descriptive word "huge"
