Postcards from Montreal: the west of Montreal edition

Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving weekend! So nice to have an extra day off! Andreas and I decided to go to a place called Coteau-du-Lac, which is about a 30 minute drive from us. Oliver even decided to join us (we bribed him with fishing and poutine but don't tell anyone😉). The leaves have just started to turn colours and the weather, although grey, was still pretty warm. It made for a beautiful outing!

16 years with Oliver

Today is our baby's 16th birthday. I know I shouldn't be calling him a baby, but he will always be ours. Time flies when we are having fun! We love you, Oli!

Reflections on 2025

Asides from 2025 being a but of a dumpster fire in general, there were good things that happened too.... and I am choosing to focus on that.

Good things included travels, time with family and friends, a good work opportunity,  good laughs and awesome memories. Hoping for the same in 2026 and wishing you all the very best in the new year!

We are in Sweden for the holidays (that will be another post- just warning you all) so looking forward to spending the evening with our boys and some of Andreas' childhood friends. Still jetlagged but feeling optimistic that we will make it to midnight.

Another adult in the house

Today is Nicka's 18th birthday. It was strange enough when Alexander turned 18 but, now, we have 2 young adults in the house. I know that I say this a lot but.... time really does fly!

10 years of blogging

 Hello all!

Today is the 10th year of my blog. On January 20, 2014, I decided to try blogging. It was a way to document our family life, our day to day, our boys as they grow. Well, although I am not as dedicated as I used to be, I am still around and, thankfully, so are you. A big thank you to everyone who has ever read these entries and a bigger thank you for all the friends that I have met along the way. 

Happily, I am still outnumbered by boys and wouldn't want it any other way. Love to you all xox

Seventeen!!!

Today is Nicka's 17th birthday. Almost can't believe it! It is a big year ahead of him- graduation from high school, starting college in the fall, starting his driver's course soon and becoming more independent all the time. We are so proud of him!
