Joker in the genes

Andreas is a joker and the boys are proving that they have the same joker genes. Do you remember when Nicklas broke his arm in the autumn (see here) and I got some make-your-mother-panick-with-all-the-drama photos? Anyway, they went back for his 6 month post cast removal check up and, guess what? More drama photos 😉 Now, you know why I drink wine 😉 Actually, there are many reasons but this is just one of them 😉

Hope you all had a good Monday! Tomorrow, we are off to Ottawa to get our fill of museums (read: getting the boys off their screens). I will let you know how this goes! Wish me luck! xox

Drama pose #1

Drama pose #2... he is actually pretty good at these ;)

Haha! You got me, kid ;)

Another Oliver-ism

Oliver is the type of kid who says whatever comes to his mind... no filter..... which I like to blame Andreas for 😉 When Oliver gets a thought into his head, he gets really preoccupied with it (again, I blame Andreas 😉) and then finally blurts out whatever he was thinking about. This time, he must have heard something on the news about pepper spray because he has definitely been giving it some thought.

The other night, Andreas found Oliver with his face close to a piece of pepper that he was trying to break into two. When Andreas asked what he was doing, Oliver said that he didn't know what the big deal about pepper spray was. He has just tried it on his own face and it wasn't so bad.... just a little wet but definitely not dangerous 😉 Maybe he will move onto cucumber spray next ;)

Hope you all had a good Thursday! It is almost weekend time again! xox

World Cup humour... or not... the Montreal Italian way ;)

During the World Cup qualifiers, the Swedish team tied with Italy- after having won the first game- thus keeping them out of the World Cup (the black day of November 13, 2017). Now, the Italian community in Montreal is retaliating with the campaign "Anyone but Sweden". Little Italy is covered with banners that cheer on any team playing in the same group (F) or against Sweden (= Anyone but Sweden) ;) It doesn't even matter who it is... just not Sweden. Andreas better stay away from Little Italy for a few weeks ;) It looks like they mean business ;)

Oliver-ism

This is a true story:

During the spring break, a local hardware store offered a daily building activity for the kids (it was even free!!!! BONUS!!!). Oliver and his friends like to build so, during the week, this activity became a staple in our list-of-things-to-do-that-did-not-involve-a-stupid-screen. This saviour of a hardware store is called Home Depot (pronounce as Home Dee-po... yes, this is actually important... the "t" is silent).

Anyway, on one of the days, we were taking care of one of Oliver's friends so we brought both of them to the daily build session. Oliver, the day before, decided that Home Depot should be pronounced Home Dee-POT (and heavy on the last syllable) so, in the car, he says to his friend "Are you excited to go to Home Dee-POT? I am!" His friend responds "Ummm... Oliver, I think that it is pronounced  Home Dee-PO... The "t" is silent." Oliver, true to form, responds "No, it is Dee-POT. There is no place for silence in my life."

How could you argue with that one? ;)

Happy Monday xox

By the way, I DO have 2 other sons... they are just WAY less willing to appear in my photos lately :(

Bang on!

My friend, Gabrielle, sent me this random-internet-thing that, honestly, rings all too true... I couldn't have said it any better myself ;)

Before and after

Yesterday, I took a picture of Alexander while he was goofing around in his new advent hat. When I looked at the picture, I could clearly remember him as a baby, with his other red hat. Here is Alexander, both before and after..... ;)

Hope you all had a good Monday xox

Adventures with Pokemon Go

Alexander has been playing Pokemon Go for 2 days now (this is day 3) and these have been my observations so far:

- This is the most he has exercised all summer long. He is on his bike/walking NON STOP. This aspect of the game is pretty cool. Problem is that some people actually drive around, using the app. This is not so cool.

- The app actually got Alexander to want to go to the library (it is a Pokemon stop or something like that). I reminded him that books were there too. He looked at me and rolled his eyes ;)

- ADULTS are using it and randomly hanging out in odd places (ie: outside our City Hall). At first, it made me laugh. Then it started to creep me out. Seriously. Yesterday evening, I agreed to take Alexander to the City Hall Pokemon spot. Nicka came too because he wanted to see what it was all about. There were at least 20 people hanging out in front of the building. I think that Alexander and Nicka were among the youngest there. Like I said: creepy.

- While we were at City Hall, I started to tease Alexander so I loudly called him a gamer. About half of the Poke-heads turned and looked at me. Hahaha!

- On our way home, some girl noticed that Alexander was playing. She raised her fist in the air and called out "Pokemon"! Umm.... sure. Whatever....

- Our neighbourhood looks like phone-staring-zombies have invaded ;)

- I have come to the conclusion that I am not cool and, you know what, I don't care ;)

I didn't take this photo (courtesy of internet). Just so you get the idea (kind of)....

This was our City Hall last night.... hahahahahaha! I don't think that there have EVER been this many people there ;)

The cars were filled with Pokemon gamers.... I didn't know if I should laugh or cry ;)

Yes, the Oscar is so white

This is our cat, Oscar. The boys found it very funny that he would make it to the news. On the radio, they heard that the Oscars were so white. The only thing that they found strange is that we only have one Oscar ;)

Have a good evening xox

Sparkle on!

Since this past summer, Oliver has been asking for a sparkle car. This request started at the time that we bought the Honda (which he thinks is his because we first saw it on his birthday). In the beginning, I asked him if it were painted with a special colour. No... that wasn't it... Did it have stickers on it? No. Was it a police car (the lights)? No. Honestly, I had no idea what he was talking about (but that happens often) ;)

Earlier this week, we had to go back to the Honda dealership to visit our lovely mechanic... again... but that is another story :P Oliver asked again if, one day, we could buy a sparkle car. Trying to get to the root of it, I asked him to show me what the heck a sparkle car is. He pointed to the next door dealership. Finally, I got my answer:

He means Subaru!!!! I told him that maybe he can buy it with his allowance when he is 18. It seemed to satisfy him ;)

Keep on Sparkling! ;) xox

I still have hope!

Given that it has been snowing all day long, I thought that I would post this perfect summary of our weather ;) I still have hope.... it is WAY warmer (around 0C) and the air doesn't hurt my face! I am wrapping up the busy day with a glass of wine and some cosy time at home with all my boys....

Happy Saturday night to you all xox

Oops!

This is a true story: A few weekends back, I decided to hang out with the boys in the living room. They were on their tablets, which obviously meant that I was not so interesting, so I turned on the TV. My latest hidden obsession is the British series "Call the Midwife" so I figured that I could catch an episode or two before dinner. We were all happy in the living room: the boys, playing their video games and me, watching my show. Anyway, suddenly I noticed that they were no longer looking at their games, but watching the TV. It was a part where a woman was giving birth.... and all theree boys were absolutely staring at the screen.... oops.... questions to come..... am I ready for it? Darn!
Nicklas looked at me and said "Why on earth is that lady screaming so much and what is happening to her?". Me: deep breath in and getting ready to explain.... Suddenly, Oliver pipes up "Nicka, it is OK. She just pooped out a baby"..... the boys seemed grossed out but satisfied. I was off the hook ;)

Have a great Wednesday xox

Another one pooped out? haha!

Funny kid

Yesterday, I wrote about our love for a certain Chinese buffet restaurant (!) Anyway, Oliver cannot sit down during a meal so I ended up having to get up with him so that he could look at all the different food... again.... again.... and again. He ended up making friends with the stir fry chef, who gave him a fortune cookie. Excited, Oliver opened it and asked me to read it to him. I told him that it said: You will be a great statesman. Your ability to lead will open doors. Not a bad fortune for a 4 year old, I thought.

Oliver's answer: I don't like that email, Mamma!

?????? Too much technology????  ;)

Fire hydrant fun

In a town, just near mine, a lot of the fire hydrants have been painted. Some look like little people and others are decorated with patterns and bright colours. I think this is fantastic... a little bit of fun :) Here is a sample of the Mexican fire hydrant.... olé!

I'll be back later... I owe a post for last night... bad me ;)

Non-toys are the best toys...

The boys have tons of playthings... more than we would like to have in our house. Frustrating is that they are all fighting over my shopping bin! Apparently it is the best toy ever :P Wonder how they will feel if all there is under the Christmas tree are more shopping bins ;)

Best toy ever.... you can even be a turtle ;)

Boys and girls

The other day, Oliver says to me: Mamma, boys have a penis and girls have a China. I think I about peed my pants ;)

Have a good rest of the day!
