Asides from 2025 being a but of a dumpster fire in general, there were good things that happened too.... and I am choosing to focus on that.
Good things included travels, time with family and friends, a good work opportunity, good laughs and awesome memories. Hoping for the same in 2026 and wishing you all the very best in the new year!
We are in Sweden for the holidays (that will be another post- just warning you all) so looking forward to spending the evening with our boys and some of Andreas' childhood friends. Still jetlagged but feeling optimistic that we will make it to midnight.
See you on the other side!
Lots of love from our family to yours xx
Today, Alexander turns 21 years old! I know that I say this often but time really does fly! Sometimes I look at him and am amazed at how fast that little baby and cookie-eating toddler boy turned into this grown man.... especially when Andreas and I haven't aged at all ;)
Happy birthday, sweetheart! We love you!
Today, our youngest turns 15! I can't believe it! What happened to the 3 year old Oliver of 2014 when I started this blog? Well, he is now finishing grade 9 and a good head taller than me (plus an attitude to match- just ask his brothers) ;)
Happy birthday, Oliver! We love you!

Hello all!
Thinking back at 2024, I give it a definite 7/10... maybe even a 8/10. Nothing outrageous, nothing offensive. A solid and steady year. I will take it 😉
Things that happened: Nicklas turned 17, graduated from high school, started CEGEP and opted to play collegial rugby. Oliver turned 14, started grade 9 and played rugby at his school. Alexander turned 20, started his senior year at CEGEP and his last year of collegial football.
Andreas traveled to Scotland for a conference and Sweden to visit his family.
I traveled to the UK to visit family and had an awesome time.
We got a dog.
Friends were found, friends were lost. We made it to the end of 2024- I count my blessings.
As we near 2025, I am thankful for you all. May your 2024 have been filled with more ups than downs.
See you on the other side 💕
Today, my baby turns 14 years old... and he has officially entered his teenage phase 😉 This includes the overuse of popular phrases like "Talk to the hand", "Yes, old mamma", "You are not cool" and the ever famous eye-roll 😉 He is definitely the family entertainment factor and the loudest one on PS4.
Happy birthday, Ollie! We love you!!!
Hello all!
Today is the 10th year of my blog. On January 20, 2014, I decided to try blogging. It was a way to document our family life, our day to day, our boys as they grow. Well, although I am not as dedicated as I used to be, I am still around and, thankfully, so are you. A big thank you to everyone who has ever read these entries and a bigger thank you for all the friends that I have met along the way.
Happily, I am still outnumbered by boys and wouldn't want it any other way. Love to you all xox
Hello again! Long time, no hear!
Honestly, it has become difficult to keep up writing here- the boys are not so keen on my writing about them or posting pictures anymore so blog posts tend to be about the weather, walks around Montreal and other random events. Anyway, since my last entry was May 15, 2023 (Oliver's 13th birthday), I thought that I would do a little catch up...
Just after my last post, I went to England by myself to visit family and friends. I arrived at Heathrow on May 22, and made my way to Coventry to see Harry Styles Love on Tour (great show). From there, I traveled to Liverpool, Manchester, Leicester and through Cheshire. In all, it was 10 great days with beautiful people and I definitely hope to go back soon. It was a very intense time but I will always hold these memories close to my heart.
At the end of July, we (all 5 of us) flew to Sweden to see Andreas' family/friends and to celebrate his 50th birthday. Considering that this might be one of the last family trips, we really appreciated it. Also, as the boys get older, they are more into seeing the sights as opposed to being bored by everything as they did the last time we were there. We even managed to get to Oslo in Norway and I traveled by myself on a side trip to visit friends in Copenhagen for a few days.
Since the summer, we had football, football and more football (Alexander and Nicklas). Oliver played baseball again so that was pretty busy too. Alexander entered his 3rd year of college (CEGEP in Quebec), Nicklas started his last year of high school and Oliver started grade 8.
On November 13, Alexander turned 19 years old (?!?). Where does time fly? When I first started this blog in 2014, he was still in elementary school and was at least a head shorter than me. Now, I barely make it to his shoulder. His friends and former school mates are students in my university classes! Funny how the boys get older but Andreas and I don't age at all ;) Ha!
Flashforward to now, welcome to 2024! Hope it is a happy and peaceful year for you all! I know that it might seem like I gave up on my little corner of the internet but I did not and I am hoping that you did not give up on me ;)
See you all again soon! I promise it won't be 7 months until the next post ;)
Happy 16th birthday to our middle man! I can't believe how fast time flies. We are so proud of you!!
I have decided to tiptoe out of 2022 and into 2023. Based on my comments over the end of 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, I will hold my breath at midnight, close my eyes and wish for a kinder and gentler 2023. We all deserve it.
Thank you for being a part of our (lately, not so) day to day. Although my blog has become more quiet over the years, it is still surviving ;)
Lots of love to you all!
Merry Christmas!
The day started off on the tail of a big snow/wind/rain/ice storm, which left us all wondering if Christmas was just not meant to be... again... but the wind cleared, the ice wasn't too bad and the roads were driveable. We had a small gathering, short and sweet, but it was nice to reclaim the holiday again.
Wishing you all love and peace during this holiday season... from our home to yours...
Today is Alexander's 18th birthday! I can't believe that our baby boy is now a grown man. These last 18 years have been a whirlwind- a sweet boy born in 2004, living in Copenhagen, starting vuggestuen (Danish daycare), meeting friends, moving to Canada, Alexander's first day at his new daycare, becoming a big brother, meeting new friends, soccer, starting elementary school, becoming a big brother again, more soccer, meeting more new friends, trips, spending time together, growing up, graduating from grade 6, starting high school, swimming, rugby, more soccer, more trips, more friends, becoming more independent, football, more rugby, covid, graduating from high school, starting to work, starting CEGEP, becoming even more independent, more football and, today, turning 18 years old.
All this for him but his parents haven't aged a bit ;)
Congratulations and happy birthday to our first born. We love you!
