Another 10 random facts

1) I am coming to terms with being the kids' social life scheduler... even during pandemic times, their agendas are more full than mine ;)

2) One more thing to include in "strange things to happen in 2020": our garden is producing the smallest tomatoes but the largest zucchini that I have ever seen.

3) Our neighbourhood is being overrun by crabgrass. Another plague...

4) I ordered the brightest orange slides ever and I love them.

5) I have come to the conclusion that I will make a good retired person.

6) I honestly gave up on mascara.

7) I have a re-occurring dream where I have to run to catch the train, despite the fact that I haven't been on a train since March 12... the day I bought a month pass and the day before the universities shut down #themostexpensivetriphome

8) Our neighbourhood is also overrun by Japanese Beetles. Another plague...

9) Now that I have to look up at 2 out of my 3 sons, it amazes me that I actually gave birth to them.

10) I am hoping that my favourite coffee shop downtown will still be there when I have to go back into work again.

Random thoughts on a Thursday

Some random thoughts on a Thursday... plus a bonus photo spam because I have been bad at posting lately!

1) My dishes regularly disappear and they magically reappear in Alexander's room. No one seems to know how they got there 😉

2) We just booked our plane tickets for 2.5 weeks in Spain this summer. This might just keep me going over the winter.

3) I am trying to cut down my sugar intake. This means I am not very fun to be around lately 😉

4) One of my students brought Marabou chocolate back from Sweden for me. See #3 😉

5) I don't care enough about cutting down my caffeine intake to actually try that one.

6) Even though I had laser surgery a few months ago, I still try to adjust my non existent glasses.

7) Speaking of no longer wearing glasses, I am so unbelievably happy to go through a winter without my glasses fogging up when I come indoors from the cold.

8) I am seriously fantasizing about being able to wear sandals again! My boots, although lifesavers in the winter, are so heavy! At least it feels like a workout 😉

9) Oliver's favourite expression lately is "Jesus Christ!". He says it a lot. Not really sure where that one came from.

10) I am often amazed at how Andreas' sense of humour genes have appeared in Nicklas. Well preserved and maybe even improved in the next generation. I think even Andreas is in awe sometimes 😉

Wishing you all a happy rest of the week! May it be fast and easy 😉xox

Random thoughts on a throwback Thursday

1. It always happens that a student walks into your office two seconds after you start tearing up because of some sappy video on Facebook ;)

2. Awkward, clutzy moments always happen in threes (or, in my case, three times three times three).

3. Why do you always see your friends' beach photos on Instagram when the weather is the coldest?

4. Every time that I forget someone's name, I have to introduce them ;)

5. In class yesterday, I spent about 30 minutes covering slides that I had already covered the week before. No wonder they seemed familiar. Makes me also wonder why no one seemed to notice ;)

6. I promise that I will NEVER complain about the heat this summer.

7. The older I get, the more I enjoy NOT going out ;)

8. I passed by a store window today that was already displaying spring pastel clothes. I don't know if it made me optimistic or depressed ;)

9. Why do the kids with the heaviest school bags never seem to have homework?

10. It always freaks me out that my eldest "baby" is starting to get a moustache ;)

Random thoughts from a cold Tuesday

1) Does walking on crunchy, squeaky snow make you feel colder than you actually are?

2) You know that you are getting older when your favourite pants for cold weather are snow pants ;)

3) Why do teenagers with bed head think that wearing a hat will mess their hair? Can it actually get worse? ;)

4) Why did the early settlers who were well-liked by the king from their homeland get free land in freezing Quebec when all the prisoners got to go to Australia? That is one mean king! ;)

5) I will always happily pay for pizza lunches at school if I get a free pass for making lunches ;)

6) Nail polish never lasts more than 15 minutes on my nails, no matter how much I spend to have my nails done.

7) Montreal has the best parking habits after snow storms! So post-apocalyptic!

8) Now that I have written about pizza lunches, I am craving pizza 😜

9) This past weekend, someone gave me 4 cupcakes. I did not share them and I don't feel guilty ;)

10)  My new Bodum combo travelling mug/French press is the best thing ever! Seriously!

Hope you all stay warm! Happy rest of the day xox

Now for the photo spam ;)

Ten random autumn facts

Today is post #899. Can you believe it? Even though it has been slow lately, I am having as much fun in Blog Land as I did at post #8 ;)

Here are my ten random autumn facts:

1) Autumn is always bittersweet for me... I love the crisp air, wearing cosy sweaters, fresh apples, the golden tone of the sunlight... but, knowing that winter is up next, I get a bit sad at the same time.

2) Marijuana has been legal in Canada since October 17 and we still have long line ups outside the stores..

3) Due to the line ups mentioned in random fact #2, we are facing a Canadian "Pot Predicament", meaning that the stores are literally running out of stock. Seriously ;) We couldn't see that one coming ;)

4) Hallowe'en stresses me out. The boys are never organized, never know what they want to dress up as, never know who they want to go out with and, if they finally figure it out, the evening always results in me driving to 50 different pick up/drop off locations and having to listen to fights about candies. Can we just skip it? ;)

5) One of my favourite fall activities is to walk through piles of leaves. I did it as a kid... and still do it now ;)

6) It makes me sad to put away our trampoline. It is always a good place to send the boys when they need to burn off steam!

7) I could never figure out why Quebec's mandatory winter tire law is from December 15 until March 15. I mean, does the person who made up this law actually LIVE here? Really dumb!

8) Speaking of winter tires, we just had them put on one of our vehicles. The other is has an appointment for the change. I am a bit neurotic about tire changes.

9) The older I get, the more I appreciate my slippers ;)

10) Today, at Nicka's football game, I found myself making a mental note to buy some of those hand warmer things.

Happy Saturday evening to you all xox
