This morning

Today I got up really early to take the dogs out. The boys were asleep still. A moment's quiet to start the day... ahhhh! Usually it is Andreas that takes the dogs out and, not that I want to take over, but it is not too bad. At least the part after we get home again is not too bad. I am choosing to ignore the "standing in the cold wind while the dogs decide where to pee" bit...

This morning....

This morning, Oliver woke up in a cranky mood. He wasn't listening... took forever with breakfast... kept "forgetting" to get dressed.... Finally, Andreas bent down, looked him in they eye and told him to get ready for school. Oliver looked at him and said "Pappa... stop telling me to get ready... YOU are NOT making America great".

Umm... how do you respond to that one?  :P

Friday walk in the city

On Friday, I had a date... a very special date... one that I had been looking forward to for months.... My date was with my mechanic and the reason to celebrate was that it was now time to put summer tires back on my car ;) I know- how exciting! YES, it was! Thank you ;)
Since my car was left at the shop, I took the train into work. I have to say that, with such nice weather, it was a pleasant trip and a beautiful morning walk through downtown Montreal on my way into work. Conveniently, my walk led my by Starbuck's, where I had my first iced latte of the season. The day kept getting better ;)

Even if you didn't ask for it, here is another lesson about Canada: Some of my friends in Europe have made comments about our seemingly sudden summer weather. Although not all days are very warm, we have definitely lost our spring time. I would say that over the past 10 years, our winter suddenly turns into 20C temperatures. This year, our meter plus snow banks melted in about 3 days. Funny thing is that, when I was a child, we did have springtime and it usually lasted 3-4 weeks. Now we go from winter boots to sandals in the same week. Global warming in action?

This morning

This is what it looked like this morning, on my way to work. I was so glad that I didn't put my summer shoes away because it was awesome to wear sandals again. Beautiful weather = good way to start the day :)

Quiet morning

For some (stupid and unknown) reason, I woke up at 5am. Bummer is that today is a holiday here (Happy Canada Day!) so I should be sleeping in! The day is starting off to be a really hot one... it is supposed to be at least 31degreesC and I can believe it! Anyway, I took advantage of the alone time and sat outside, watching the neighbourhood wake up and catching up on my favourite blogs (which will be another post sometime soon).
I managed around 2 hours before Nicka woke up! He was followed by Alexander... and then Oliver.... and then, and then, and then......... Andreas ;) Lucky sleep in! It doesn't matter. I really enjoyed the silent morning, with my coffee and no one yelling MAMMMMMA! Ahhhhh....
